The Mango Tree Indian Coastal Restaurant

Talking about Indian food, The Mango Tree at East Coast Road is one of the best I have tasted so far. It is the first Indian restaurant opened in Singapore with a strong mixture of authentic south and north Indian essence. The warm and cosy environment combine with the darkwood interiors, lightly toned white marble furnishings and a wall of colorful decoration adding charm to the place. The various choices of fresh seafood literally blew my mind away.

The Mango Tree does not only provide an indoor setting but also caters an alfresco space for those who like to dine outdoors. The view and decoration will definitely attract you to stay up longer here. Alternatively, they also provide private rooms for individual events or functions.

 Mango Naan

Have you ever tasted a naan with mango flavor? Mango Naan is the one and only that can be found at The Mango Tree. The naan being baked till crispy, added up by the sweetness of the mango essence, simply mouth-watering!

The Mango Tree Garlic Crab

Personally, I love to eat garlic. This garlic crab really surprises me. It's freshness blends together very well with the unique indian spices. The fragrant garlic sauce has entirely infused in the crab and the meat is especially rich and juicy.

Meen Polichatu

The masala fish grilled with the banana leaf, wrapped together with their own creation of spice. The fish meat absorbed all the spice and it really taste great.

  32. Try the garlic crab – it’s marinated with garlic and chili and is served with steamed vegetables. The spicy shrimp soup is fabulous – so full of aroma and rich in freshness that is mouth watering just thinking about it now. The snacks such as samosa and idiyappam (steamed rice noodles topped with Kerala styled fish curry) is cooked to perfection. Their chicken grills are also fabulous.

  33. Menu offers variety and some delicious signature dishes. Staff is very friendly and greets you with a smile always. I opted for some north indian dishes even after knowing it's a coastal restaurant, however food was pretty nice particularly their achari chicken tikka & paneer makhani. Mutton curry & carrot pudding is also worth a try there.
