Tian Kee & Co


Tian Kee and Co used to be a provision shop for more than 50 years before it was turned into a hipster cafe just last years. From the signage to the tables and chairs and the rustic looking furniture, looking from afar might suggest that it is a coffee shop that has stood since 1970.

The menu offerings however differs; despite having some simple fare that's somewhat nostalgic such as muffins and cream puffs, they have also incorporated modern items such as flavored cheesecake and artisan coffee into their menu as well. Coffee is made using Dutch Colony beans. My Latte was a little acidic and not as full bodied as I like my coffee to be. Decent nonetheless. Yuan Yang is a beverage that contains a mixture of both coffee and tea. To incorporate Yuan Yang into their cheesecake, the top layer was a coffee flavored jelly which was light in its aroma that it was enough to taste but not too intrusive to the cheesecake. The rainbow cheesecake look nothing like the average tiered rainbow chiffon / sponge cakes we usually see / eat. These light, dreamy swirls were so pretty, so surreal, so eye-catching. The rainbow cheesecake texture is like tofu cheesecake.
