Food Blogger # Old sixties golden stock at Long Jiang Chinos

Situated at Yishun, Long Jiang Chinos is a modern Chinese restaurant that is reminiscent of flavours back at home. Offering a delectable selection of over 100 dishes, and famed for their Old Sixties Golden Stock, this restaurant boasts of an inspiring list of dishes at affordable prices. It offers an alfresco dining option as well, with a stunning panoramic view that is bound to set the mood for a romantic evening.

The service here is excellent as the staff patiently introduced me to their signature dishes. I ended up ordering their Hakka Tofu, Marble Goby, Bamboo Clams and Teochew-style Braised Pork. My favourite dish has definitely got to be the Marble Goby, which was served clay pot-style along with their signature Old Sixties Golden Stock. The stock was what made the entire dish so delightful to eat. I was told that it was painstakingly cooked for 8 hours, using only high quality and healthy ingredients such as tomato, toufu and chicken feet. Needless to say, this dish was a match made in heaven and it just couldn’t get any better. The other dishes were worth trying too, such as the Hakka Tofu which was fried to perfection – crispy outside and soft on the inside. To end off the meal, I decided to go for their Chocolate Pudding for my dessert. It was filled with passion fruit and served with ice cream. The flavours were very well balanced – the tartness of the passion fruit complements so harmoniously with the bittersweet taste of the dark chocolate.
