Ramen is one of the most popularJapanese foods for a reason. It is not only comforting and delicious, but also relatively affordable and comes in many varieties. We are very lucky that there are many good ramen shops in Singapore which are comparatively as good as those you find in Japan. Today, I am pleased to share with you one of my all-time favourite ramen restaurants in Singapore – Shinagawa Ramen Restaurant.
Tom Yam Ramen
The snaking queues during lunch and dinner time probably says it all – Shinagawa Ramen Restaurant is the epitome of ramen, and probably the closest you’d ever get to an authentic ramen experience. In particular, what stood out most for me was their Tom Yum Ramen. To me, this is a fusion dish and the flavours combination worked out really well. The soup base is very light and aromatic, and the fragrance from the Tom Yum spices brings this dish to another level. What’s noteworthy is that you can choose the spiciness level according to preference. I also ordered their Avocado salad. The addition of avocado creates a different layer of texture for the dish and enhances the refreshing touch from the vegetables. I was also highly recommended by the staff to try their Spider Maki, which is made using soft shell crab. This dish was served hot, especially the fillings inside. This means that it is only made to order. Apart from being crispy and fragrant, this dish is not overly oily and I can also taste the freshness of the soft shell crab. The last dish that I would highly encourage everyone to try is their Dynamic Roll, which is generously filled with fresh quality ingredients such as salmon, fish roe and intricately sliced cucumbers. This is definitely a must-try for all salmon lovers.
Needless to say, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal at Shinagawa. Not only is the food good, the service staffs here are also very friendly. There will always be something to love in this restaurant and I am not surprised why is that so. Sometimes, all we want is quick yet delicious Japanese meal in between meetings, or to simply lift our moods, yes? Then, Shinagawa is the answer for you.
