Ambitious fine wining and dining with exciting live performances

Founded by TCC, KUVO follows a multi-concept approach towards retail and dining. It has a modern, spacious and luxurious interior and is situated in an expansive space overlooking the famous Orchard Road shopping precinct. Across a variety of interconnected spaces, guests can expect all-day dining centred on contemporary international and Asian cuisines, polished bespoke cocktail service at the bar and a wine lounge showcasing an impressive selection of wines. Conceived as a sophisticated yet relaxed lifestyle destination, I feel that KUVO adds an inviting dimension to the predominantly retail-centric Orchard Road area.

Alison and I went there for high tea and we were greeted by a delicate-looking wide selection of cakes and desserts. The teatime classics that we had were served on a three-tier silver tray and are only available from 2pm to 5.30pm. While I feel that the prices may be slightly steep, it is good to note that you are getting innovative and high quality food amidst a very laid-back and relaxing atmosphere hidden away from the world on the second floor of a shopping center within the hustle and bustle of Orchard Road.

We had both sweet and savoury bites, which include Chicken Satay, Scallop, Shrimp Wanton, Beef Burger, Pudding and an assortment of cakes. The foods were served in bite-sized and dainty portions and were not too heavy for our palette.  In particular, my favourite dish has got to be the Shrimp Wanton, which was crisp on the outside filled with a generous amount of Shrimp. It was not oily at all, and left a lingering aromatic sensation on the taste buds. The pan-seared scallops were fresh and delicious too, seasoned beautifully with a nice soft and chewy texture. We also tried their buttery scones, which were served alongside with Kaya and Jam. The scones were flaky and not too hard and are suited for the young and old. We ended off our meal on a beautiful note with some cakes, which includes a Black Forest Gateau and Lemon Meringue Tart. What stood out for me was their lemon tart, which was tangy in flavour and balanced out well with the sweetness. It was a truly satisfying tea time experience for both of us and we definitely enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and delicious food.

KUVO opens daily from midday and provides an enticing option on Orchard Road for lunches, dinner or all-day dining and relaxation. You can look forward to four different ways to enjoy moments with friends or hold private and corporate functions with its segmentation of spaces. Regardless, reservations in the evenings are highly encouraged on both weekdays and weekends. KUVO is definitely an interesting concept and I hope that it will be here to stay.
