I'm an avid foodie and I particularly love authentic Italian food. Usually I would frequent different Italian Restaurants in with my awesome friends who shares the same passion as me. I visited Blend It Up with our buddies. We were greeted with a nice welcome, staffs were friendly and nice. Even before the first dish, it was a pleasant experience, The Chef is generous in sharing his knowledge and experiences, from the way the in-house drinks is held to the way our dish are served. It may sound insignificant to some, but these are tiny little things that define the dining experience.Throughout our lunch, we talked to Peter Neo and we learnt a lot about their food preparation and the restaurant culture. From our conversation l also found out that Blend It Up is famous for their seafood pasta.
We had Vongole, Aglio Oilo, Sambal Pasta, Risotto, Lasagna and Pizza. Pasta and ingredients were fresh, and most importantly from the texture of our pasta, we could tell that it's skillfully prepared. There are many restaurants with great pasta, but due to pasta takes time to cook, the common practice is that they have to be precooked and then cooked again prior to serving. With this common practice, some pasta become too soft. We asked Chef Peter Neo and who is also the boss of the restaurant, regarding the preparation of our pasta, and the secret lies in the timing of the precook. Mesmerized!
Tom Yam Seafood Risotto: the risotto is cooked perfectly creamy, with the grains retaining a toothsome bite. There's something you have to try at this busy neighborhood restaurant. Risottos are tricky to put on the menu but Peter does it just right.
Chicken Lasagna, the chicken lasagna gives the solid punch, the slippery fettuccine dances in your mouth and the mince chicken tenderly melts in your mouth.
Pizza is fantastic the crust is well baked, the cheese gentle, and the ingredients are well-balanced. But you should know that the real star here. The mushrooms are a nice addition to the dish as well. Don't miss this one! If you're sharing dishes, go ahead and get their special.
We have chocolate desire and finish off with the Pistachio Lava Cake it's perfection. When we crave for Italian food, this is a place that we will definitely frequent.
